HostGator is a massive host. Seriously – they host an incredibly large number of sites (currently over 1.8 million), and have been in the hosting game for years on end. What’s really made them stand out, and stand the test of time, is the service. Both the technical aspects of the accounts, and the customer service they provide are top notch.
BlueHost looks and feels like your standard, run-of-the-mill web hosting company. The are lacking in the personality department, but they still offer reasonably priced, stable hosting. They are also very upfront about the ways you can contact them – their phone number is all over their website. They’ve also been online for over a decade, and were started in 1996. My biggest gripe with them is the lack of perks that come with their package.
Much like BlueHost, JustHost is a very straightforward hosting option. They offer the same, fairly standard package that many hosts offer, and lack in some of the extra little perks that make Fat Cow excel. They do offer some perks – but they’re just not as good as Fat Cow’s. This makes them a solid choice, and the only reason they aren’t rated #2 is because of my limited experience with them thus far. In time, they may overtake BlueHost as our #2 selection.
Super Green Hosting has really impressed me over the last few months. So much so, that when evaluating the entire lists of hosts, they stood out as number one. The fact that they are a truely “green” company, and are totally carbon-neutral, is really icing on the cake.
Omnis Website Hosting boasts having over 200,000 customers since its opening in 1999. You don’t get that many accounts without having a solid service offering. They also offer a fairly impressive amount of scripts that have simple, one-click installs, and some advertising coupons as well.
